Brand pricing is real: Genie, JLG and Haulotte carry a 15 to 30% premium over the newer Chinese brands on identical specs, and hold it at resale. The dominant used-price lever is the ten-year major inspection: a machine recertified with years of compliance left sells for thousands more than one facing the recert bill.
What a hire fleet costs
Assembling a 20-unit starter fleet, a dozen electric scissors, a few rough-terrain machines and a handful of booms, prices out around $350,000 to $700,000 buying used-lean, or $800,000 to $1.3m in new premium-brand machines.
