What a Bobcat costs in Australia, new and used

Ventas Asset Lending  |  Reviewed by Caleb Morehu  |  Updated 23 October 2026

Used Bobcat loaders are listed from $25,000 for a 2015 S650 skid steer to $115,000 for a 2024 T76 track loader, and used mini excavators from $23,200 to $65,000. Bobcat publishes no price list, but a new E17 excavator starts at $33,990, an E20 from $42,500 and a T590 track loader from $90,000, all ex GST.

A Bobcat's price depends less on the model name than on its hours, its age and who is selling it. Bobcat of Australia does not publish prices and most new machines are listed as price on application, so the real numbers sit in used listings and a handful of dealer offers. This guide sets out what 14 used loaders and six used mini excavators ask across seven states and territories, the few new prices that are published, how Bobcat compares with Kubota, Cat and Toro, what attachments add, and how a purchase is funded.

What used Bobcat loaders are listed for

Skid steer is the name of the whole category. Bobcat makes wheeled skid steers (the S models) and rubber-tracked compact track loaders (the T models, which Bobcat of Australia calls track loaders). Bobcat of Australia publishes no prices, so this table uses asking prices from live listings on Machines4U and on Clark Equipment's used site on 22 October 2026. Prices are ex GST as shown on each listing. Hours and condition are the seller's claims. Figures are indicative market data and not Ventas offers.

Three things stand out. Tracks cost more. The cheapest track loader here asks $50,000 for a 2018 T450, while five of the six wheeled machines built before 2020 ask $25,000 to $39,000. Age and seller move the price as much as hours. A 2021 S550 with 2,546 hours asks $55,000, which is $16,000 or 41 per cent more than a 2018 S550 with 1,470 hours at $39,000 (our arithmetic). Details conflict. Three listings carry mismatched details, such as the S770 titled new but described as used and the 2021 T66 shown in NSW but located in Perth, so confirm the machine, serial number and location before you pay a deposit.

What Bobcat mini excavators cost

Bobcat's mini excavators run from the 1.2 tonne E10 to the 8.8 tonne E88-R2. For other brands and sizes, read our excavator price guide. Used Bobcat excavators from the E10 to the E55 were listed like this on 22 October 2026, all ex GST.

Listings differ in what they include. Most come with buckets, and the E55 adds an earth drill and a ripper, so compare the package and not only the price. The used E17Z at $23,200 asks 68 per cent of the $33,990 new price, though that new price includes a hitch and three buckets and the used listing does not say (our arithmetic).

New Bobcat prices and the current range

Bobcat of Australia lists no prices on its model pages, only an Enquire button, and dealers show most new loaders as price on application. These are the new prices that were published on 22 October 2026.

Bobcat of Australia also advertises a free 4-in-1 bucket with a new T590 while stocks last, to 31 October 2026. Its range, with the lift figure shown for each model, is:

The S510 that many buyers search for is not on that list. Lift capacity is the first price driver, so a T66 and a T590 sit in different bands.

Bobcat against Kubota, Cat and Toro

Asking prices for similar track loaders, 67 to 75 hp, land in a similar band whatever the badge, with hours and age doing the rest. Listings from Machines4U on 22 October 2026, ex GST:

Bobcat asks no less than its rivals. A 2023 T66 with 1,151.5 hours asks $86,364, against $79,000 for a 2021 Cat 259D3 with 1,672 hours and $79,900 for a 2024 Kubota SVL75-3 with 768 hours. At $65,000 each, the 2021 T66 has 2,600 hours and the 2022 Kubota SVL65-2 has 670. In mini excavators a 2021 Bobcat E17Z with 1,612 hours asks $23,200, while a 2022 Kubota U17-3 with 1,300 hours asks $24,500 (Machines4U 1253654). A 2017 Bobcat E35Z with 2,700 hours asks $38,000 and a 2022 Kubota U35-4 with 1,650 hours asks $45,500 (Machines4U 1263073). Our Kubota price guide covers that brand in full.

New Cat and Kubota loaders are quote-only too: on Machines4U the new Cat loaders on the first page of results and the new Kubota loaders from dealers were all price on application. Toro's Dingo stand-on loaders compete with Bobcat's MT100 mini track loader. We found no dealer page with a current Australian price, and the only new Toro listing on Machines4U that day was a TX525 at price on application. One 2025 buyer's guide from a machinery seller, DAS Machinery, quotes $64,735 RRP for a TX 1000 Turbo Wide Track and tells readers to rely on dealer quotes, so treat it as a pointer only.

Hours, age and attachments

Hours and age move together in listings, so read used prices in pairs (our arithmetic):

Attachments are priced separately unless a package includes them. These retail asking prices are for gear bought on its own. One S590 seller values its 4-in-1 bucket at $6,500.

Financing a Bobcat purchase

Bobcat loaders and excavators are mainstream plant for lenders. Machines4U showed 89 results in its Bobcat skid steer category and 35 Bobcat excavator results on 22 October, so a lender can see what a machine resells for. The usual structure is a chattel mortgage: you own the machine from settlement, the lender registers its interest on the PPSR, and a GST-registered buyer claims the GST back on the next BAS. Attachments can go on the same facility. Ventas is a finance broker, not a lender, so we do not quote rates here. They change with the lender, the security and the file.

Factory offers. Bobcat of Australia advertised these on 22 October 2026, all ending 31 October 2026: 0% over 36 months on new E10, E17 and E20 excavators, and 2.49% over 36 months on new loaders and new 3 to 8.8 tonne excavators. The terms shown are a 36 month chattel mortgage, a 10% deposit, equal monthly repayments, no balloon, approved ABN holders only, subject to credit approval and not combinable with other offers. They cover new machines only, and a 36 month term lifts the monthly repayment compared with a longer one. Most machines in this guide are used, so broker finance is the comparison to run for those.

Where lenders are cautious. A late-model Bobcat from a dealer is the easy end. Lenders get careful with machines near an age limit at the end of the term, high-hour machines with no service record, private and auction purchases that need an inspection or a pre-approval, listings where the make, serial number or location do not match the invoice (three of the 14 loader listings above conflict), and new ABNs with no work lined up. One broker's April 2026 guide says mainstream low doc programs want an ABN of 24 months or more with GST registered for 12 months or more, and that some specialists accept 12 months with strong same-trade experience. Expect to supply your latest BAS, three to six months of bank statements, the supplier invoice and a PPSR search.

Illustrative only, subject to lender assessment. A realistic purchase of a used track loader with two attachments:

ItemAmount
Used track loader, ex GST$90,000
Pallet forks and a hydraulic 4-in-1 bucket, ex GST$8,000
Inspection and freight, ex GST$2,000
Total ex GST$100,000
GST at 10%$10,000
Total payable at settlement$110,000

And how it is typically funded:

Funding layerAmountWhat it coversSecured on
Chattel mortgage (equipment finance)$90,000Machine and attachmentsThe machine, registered on the PPSR
Your deposit$10,000The rest of the ex GST costCash
GST paid at settlement, claimed back on your next BAS$10,000GST on the purchaseCash, or a short GST facility
Total$110,000

Debt here is 90 per cent of the ex GST cost, in line with the 10% deposit the factory offers ask. A lender may fund more or less depending on your file, the machine's age and who is selling it. A new ABN may be asked for a bigger deposit or property security. A property-backed loan secured on a home can fund the deposit or the whole purchase, at the cost of putting that property at risk.

To get a number from Ventas, send the make, model, year, serial number and hours, the price and who is selling (dealer, private or auction), the attachments, how long your ABN has traded and whether you own property. Frequently asked questions

How much does a Bobcat cost in Australia?

Used Bobcat loaders list from about $25,000 for a 2015 S650 to $115,000 for a 2024 T76, and used mini excavators from $23,200 to $65,000. Bobcat publishes no price list. A new E17 excavator starts at $33,990 and a new T590 track loader from $90,000, all ex GST.

How much is a Bobcat S70?

A 2019 S70 with 187 hours was listed at $28,000 ex GST, reduced from $32,200. Bobcat of Australia does not publish a new S70 price. The S70 is the smallest skid steer in the range, with a rated operating capacity of 344 kg.

Is a wheeled skid steer or a track loader cheaper?

Wheeled. In these listings five of six wheeled machines built before 2020 ask $25,000 to $39,000, while the cheapest track loader asks $50,000 for a 2018 T450. Tracks suit soft or wet ground, and wheels suit hard surfaces.

Is Bobcat dearer than Kubota or Cat?

Not by much on asking prices. A 2023 Bobcat T66 asks $86,364, a 2021 Cat 259D3 $79,000 and a 2024 Kubota SVL75-3 $79,900, each from a different seller with different hours. At $65,000, a 2021 T66 has 2,600 hours and a 2022 Kubota SVL65-2 has 670.

Can I finance a used Bobcat?

Yes. Lenders fund new and used loaders and excavators from dealers, private sellers and auctions. Private and auction purchases need an inspection or pre-approval, and old or high-hour machines may mean a shorter term or a deposit. Approval depends on ABN age, credit and the machine, and is subject to lender assessment.
